Résumé : | Social media has an increasingly influence on people’s way of life and their consuming behavior. By releasing information on social media, more and more companies build a direct communication with consumers and investors. Chinese social media is different with Western social media. The main purpose of this paper is to study the determinants of voluntary disclosure by social media in Chinese financial sector. We select 72 companies as our study samples. Based on the Internet Adoption indicators, we develop seven hypotheses on the Chinese social media in formation disclosure, and then examine hypotheses by t-test. We find that a company’s voluntary information disclosure on social media is positively related to its Internet adoption level. Our findings suggest that the engagement of information disclosure on social media increases a company’s influence and reach. (source auteur) |
